A Jump-for-Joy Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving - a yearly tradition usually at the end of the year to thank all the people and celebrate the good memories and moments together. Thanksgiving this year isnt spent with W133 - the people I spent most part of my year with and have lots to thank them. Miss the days during the june hols when all the uni students could hang out...plus Alex and Lizzie who werent working yet. We had so much fun at my new house!

N182's thanksgiving was quite a casual event, in a private room in Marina Square's Waraku. Very nice and quiet place, and......not to mention, I LOVE WARAKU A LOT!! The most awesome part was ......... I got to eat my favourite Yakiniku Don AND Cream Cheese Scallop Udon AND Potato Cheese Mentai. OOoooohhh, heavenly!

Photobucket
the coolest part is Collin works in this Waraku branch before, and has lots of recommendations for us! Also, he opened 2 bottles of fruit wine for the whole cell group. Awesomeness!

The 2 hosts, Aaron and Janis, gave out the gifts one by one. Each member had a description and a gift that matched them. I received a laser pointer to represent the educator in me hahaha! And Ben received a cute stickfigurine playing a violin to celebrate his talents. Yeaa, I've a super talented boyfriend - he played violin for SYF in primary sch, organ till 5th grade, self-learn guitar till v pro, can breakdance, pro in badminton, pro in soccer, do stunts on bikes, great sense of balance so he can wakeboard and cableski very well with stunts, can do damn a lot of pull-ups (is it 37 in a minute?)

dunno what got into us........

we had the urge to do some jump shots! MY FAV!

in the end, we keep taking turns to do jump shots until it was almost midnight! -_-

Signing off with a polaroid shot,
Photobucket
Ending off with 2 Thanksgiving quotes:

"True thanksgiving means that we need to thank God for what He has done for us, and not to tell Him what we have done for Him."
"Thank God every day when you get up that you have something to do that day which must be done whether you like it or not. Being forced to work and forced to do your best will breed in you temperance and self-control, diligence and strength of will, cheerfulness and content, and a hundred virtues which the idle will never know."

Anyway, all the pictures made me realize the importance of a GOOD CAMERA! Why spoil the beautiful memories with shitty photos :( Discussed with my sister about cameras and surprisingly, she knows a lot! I was persuaded to consider sharing Canon 50D with her. Hmmm.

New Blog Template

hey hey hey!

how's my new blog template? wanted to change my template somewhere in the middle of the semester but figured out that I'll hold out till the holidays. Now, the holidays is almost over, and I had the sudden strong call to change the template before the next crazy semester starts. And so, I finally got to work!

I still have quite a lot of work to do. Cant seem to add the old tagboard in -_- and...cant get the comment thing to work. plus lots of links to add! nevertheless, glad that the new template is looking fine. The reason I chose this is because I can now upload BIGGER photos! bahahaha!

you'll see!

Mini W133 Gathering

Went Kayaking one of the days with Cindy, Daniel and my sis. Wanted to try the Lower Seletar Reservoir one which is about 2 bus stops from Khatib Mrt but when we reach there, we were greeted by a small shabby place with a not very friendly guy-in-charge who told us that there is some lightning warning which will last till 4. As it was 2+pm then, Daniel suggested to go Macritchie reservoir instead. Indeed, its a GREAT idea! And the guy is super friendly.

I seriously thought I had 2 stars for canoeing, but turned out that perhaps I went for one star TWICE. hahaha...and he kept teasing me - saying that my one star plus one star made me think that I had two. Nonetheless, he let me take the single closed top kayak, together with Daniel. While Cindy and my sis shared an open top double kayak heh heh heh. Poor them....... no star = only can paddle a small area! While one star and above could go almost all the way for bout a km or so.

Thanks to Daniel who wants to recap his capsize drills.......first time wasnt so bad. I couldn't help him...so he just dragged his kayak to the shore and emptied the water inside himself. The second time was just...........HILARIOUS! This time he deliberately capsized beside a platform - He thought he could get onto the platform, but he was PLAIN WRONG.

Can u imagine a guy hanging onto the platform.....couldnt get up......swings his both legs over the sides.....stuck in some funny position cos he couldnt lift his stomach and butt up??? Its freaking funny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think the laughing was the best exercise I had that day man!!!!! In the end my sister climbed onto the platform and tried to pull him up. I guess she saw funny daniel up close and fell back laughing instead.

hahaha, not meaning to laugh at u, but you make the whole kayaking experience FUN! :D

We had a bigger W133 gathering after that at the Marche in Somerset 313. We were uber late...opps. Din really get to spend super quality time with some of them due to the long table setting and I was sitting with people I already get to see pretty often. Nonetheless, it feels good to be with the people I feel super comfortable with. =)) plus....i love to eat ROSTI!

Love ya, W133!

Two Foodies on Christmas

On Christmas day......

I received a present from Ben! He told me quite some time back that he prepared something for me and made me promise that I wouldnt search his house upside down for it. Hehehehe... so I was anticipating it for weeks. Was somewhat convinced that he would get something that I couldnt use thou ahahha! Cos all his gifts to me are usually not really the things I want. 1 very good example - I wanted squash rackets badly. I even blogged about that. He bought me a badminton racket instead! -_- even though I liked it still heh. A babolat racket, its very light!

Back to the present from Ben! Its:

Photobucket
A pop art!

Photobucket
placed it on top of our workplace
(a bit messy cos of me haha)

Because I saw some tweets about a fellow churchmate eating CRABS..........I got super gian to eat crabs and Ben was influenced! End up, we went to his place nearby for some crabsssssssssssss :D :D :D

Photobucket
think they sell quite cheap crabs - $28 a kg.
If you have any crab place to intro, please do!

Photobucket
Our crab bee hoon with extra bee hoon!
Damn yummy!!! just a pity that we had to rush through that meal because of our booked movie - Bodyguards and Assassins at 9.40pm.

Jees. Before we went to watch the movie, everyone around us said its damn nice and all. GUESS WHAT. After we watched the movie, suddenly everyone around us said its NOT NICE! X_X Think its ok - Guess ben is quite disappointed that theres little Donnie Yen fight scenes. On the other hand, it made me realize the significance of Sun Yat Sen in changing China and the lives of so many Chinese...all our ancestors! Moreover, I was at Sun Yat Sen's Memorial Hall along Balestier a lot in the previous semester due to my group's fieldtrips and I didnt really bother to read all his revolution stories cos its so wordyyy.

Oh, makes me feel like going back there just to read up more. ya right. think i'll be too lazy. Want to go to Bodyworks exhibition though!

That night, we experimented with the blender. Tried to make Oreo milkshake! The recipes on the web all varies.....but the idea is there:
- vanilla ice cream
- milk
- lotsa oreos!

so we just estimated how much of each we want to have in our milkshake!

Photobucket
we put a lot a lot a lot of ice cream cos we wanted it DAMN THICK!

end result:
Photobucket
doesn't look good, but it tastes HEAVENLY!!! Just that...you can feel like you gonna have a sore throat right after that. haha~

I've been SKIPPING a lot! Hoping that I can make it up.

Hope you had a great Xmas! =)

Xmas Countdown!

Xmas this year had been great! Started the xmas celebration with Christmas service. Wore a black lace dress I always wanted to get and a pair of black heels that Ben bought for me! Hehee. Both spotted when shopping with Eunice at Bugis on tues - just 1 or 2 hours but so fruitful! :D

Photobucket
while waiting for Kaze, Ben irritated me...so I was shooting him daggers through my eyes

The Xmas drama was interesting. Kaze thought that it could be comparable to Esplanade performance. I personally loved the Heineken-inspired scene joke (the walk-in closet vs the beer store one). :D

Countdown itself was awesome - a big gathering of N182 at ECP's hong kong cafe. Not sure what its called, but cool that we had one whole section to ourselves to make a lot of noise.

Photobucket
Front: our CGL, melvin!
Beside me, Kaze (covering face, yes cover more handsome) and Cedric :)
And Eunice!

Photobucket
Louisa feeding Michelle the choc fudge cake we made for everyone :D

Photobucket
standing - cute and funny Eujean. Always introducing himself as the salesman.
Also in photo (clockwise from behind Eujean): Cheryl, Amanda, Magdalene, Ying Xian, Dayne, Alex

Photobucket
And we celebrated Melvin's actual birthday this time! hahaha can see he is super shy.

Sang the birthday song in all sorts of language
- English
- Chinese cos got a new friend from China
- Bahasa Malay for Liza who is from Indonesia
- and....... Cantonese cos we are in hong kong cafe
hahaha!

The last part of the gathering was the most fun - surprised everyone took Ben's suggestion seriously. To say a childhood thing that either everyone did it before, or no one did it before:
some that I remember:
- hopscotch
- zero point
- country eraser!
- SWEET VALLEY HIGH! hahaha!
- fear street!
- marbles
- five stone
- Red alert
hahaha, end up mine was the most ultimate.......................
WHO OWNED A TAMAGOTCHI BEFORE?!

Everyone put up their hand. Almost. Then I noticed Ying Xian didnt. WHAT?!?!?!

hahaha, some were thinking "ya hoh, why didnt I think of that!"

i wonder if anyone still plays tamagotchi now. LOL. they should totally have a tamagotchi APP for iPhone or Android phones! IDEA right! xD

hehe, so many laughs and fun the whole night :D

NTU Results!

NTU Results are out!! hahaha guess i'm probably the only lagging one, but im sure someone hasnt checked her results. and thats peiying! I knew the news from xuemin who smsed the good news that she has hit second lower class GPA hehe. Was so happy for her, but a wave of gloominess came over me. I was totally not confident about my results at all =( I know theres this math lecturer who hates me - and i dislike her too. I was sure she would screw my results up (which she did btw).

Thank God Ben was with me...asked him to pray for me first before we looked at it. He checked the results for me while i looked away (he made me do that). After checking my grades, he asked me whats my expectations. All i want is to continue to the minimum grade required so i can continue receiving the 5 figure sum thats given out over 4 semesters. He still act disappointed awhile lor, so playful!

Anyway, I DID HIT THE MINIMUM GRADE!!! YAAY!! I AM SO HAPPY HEHEHEHE AND I THANK GOD BECAUSE IT IS NOT BY MY MIGHT NOR POWER, BUT BY HIS GRACE THAT I DID WELL FOR MY SEMESTER!!! Really really really thank God. I did put in quite a lot of effort this semester - trying not to be last minute (somewhat unsuccessful during the assignment deadlines peak period) and trying to do my readings diligently (also somewhat unsuccessful - i only manage to complete at best 50% of recommended readings, which is already a lot btw!) Thank God that even though that evil lecturer sabo me by giving me a C+, I had enough As and B+s to put my grades up a lot HEHE! xD

I give all thanks to God =) Just feeling very thankful now. and really happy.

--

I just wish I have a happier family. I pray that my dad will stop putting us down with his words and stop scolding us. Its making me dread going home a lot - actually to the point that I hate going home. I wish my dad goes church with me so he could learn to be a better father. I dont wish to hate/dislike him...but his horrible temper seems to have gotten worst. and it brings out the bad side in me - it makes me angry too, and fills me up with hatred.

Sis just got scolded in the morning, and because I wasnt ard, i was spared. But I guess I wont be so fortunate when I wake up tmr in my house. It shld be ok if I dont talk some sense to him...just daydream, pray for strength, and i dunno what, anything except reacting. Maybe if I pray hard enough (or u pray for me too ok), he wouldnt be unreasonable tmr. or anymore.

opps, its xmas. Shouldnt write such mood dampening stuff.

Have a great xmas celebration - whatever u're doing out there!

MERRY XMAS! =D

A Candlelight Xmas

Last Sat was the once-a-year event that i love! Its always sucha beautiful sight to see how the lighted candles slowly spread from 2 pple to 10 to the first few rows to the entire hall!! Just beautiful and amazing =))

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket
looking all ard us, its soooo beautiful! =)

Photobucket

Photobucket
nison and desmond - they just joined e cell group bout 2 months before us

Photobucket
janis (all e pics are from her cam!), nison, desmond, peekaboo ben

after the awesome service, we went to the nearby SIA club for dinner and Melvin's bday celebration. Super cool and exclusive place! Best thing is - it opens till really really really late! They have Astons Specialties there too! :D

Photobucket
Had Salmon Spaghetti - super nice! and theres sooo many slices of salmon! first time i had such generous helping!

Photobucket
hahaha @ nison!

The celebration kick-started with a spongebob song rewrite by Cedric, Cheryl and me! ahahha! goes totally with the huang shang theme that night and it was hilarious!

Continued with a pretty fun game - all of us took a few mins to draw how we perceive Melvin. I always found him a small but powerful man....so i made my point by drawing a tiny stickman with super huge arms and muscles that were uneven (opps!). Ben also had the same idea, but he drew an ant to symbolize it - ants are disciplined and strong even though they are small!

hhahaha we had so much laughters throughout the guess! he looked at my drawing and said this person has a problem... hahaha. gosh, i think my drawing is really bad that it din quite make the point. jeex.

Photobucket
fun idea! - guess who drew what of you!

Photobucket
then we had a medley of 3 other songs - rewrite by 10 of us who met up earlier the previous week to discuss!! Best I ever had, pokerface (FUNNY!!), heal the world.

Melvin loved the songs so much he got us to sing again =D and he laughed a lot at the lyrics!

Photobucket
while singing
actually, din noe my hair colour looks like tat from e side!

Photobucket
then, it was cake cutting time - cake baked by sarah! so beautifully decorated. can see the hardwork and creativity =D

Photobucket
Melvin's card which is an edict is SUPER IMPRESSIVE! Made of gold and very nice prints that suits the imperial theme plus Louisa sewn the traditional chinese way of writing happy birthday in the middle.

lastly lastly lastly, we ended the night with -

A GROUP PHOTO! A new and improved N182, as quoted from Cedric =)

Photobucket
^_^

Another Tanning Session

Another tanning session, with another pair of shades -

another set of photos from my toy camera. love it!

anyways, thats the last photos with that haircut u'll see cos I cut my hair again!!

My unkind sister said I look retarded. -_- but whatever, eunice and ben said its cute!

then when my sis cut her fringe and twitpic me, i replied her the same thing - "you look retarded" haahha. :p

Storm Warriors 2

Jee, Storm Warriors 2 is SO DISAPPOINTING! And SHUCKS, Ben and I watched it on a Sunday somemore! A total waste of money. 8 Days review said that its CGI effects are comparable to Hollywood's 300. Yes, maybe that part may be true. However, the storyline is slow and almost non-existent. Tried to appreciate the action, but its too CGI-ed.

Nevertheless, I enjoy whatever I do with Ben lahhh. :)

When we walked back from Tampines Mall to his place, he was singing - "tis the season to watch movies, falalalala-lalalala." Yah man. Watching Avatar with Cedric, Eunice, Cheryl, Ben, Jeremy on Monday. And probably Alvin and the Chipmunks 2 on Wed with W133! PLUS BEN AND I WANNA WATCH Bodyguards and Assassins real bad cos Ben loves Donnie Yen and we wanna do it before the expensive Xmas tickets period!

"Tis the season to eat log cakes, bahahahaha-wahahahaha!" :D

Julie/Julia

Ben enticed me into watching Julie & Julia with him, with the claim that it is the "feel good" movie of the year. Indeed, it is a great show! i teared quite a lot during the show, guess I got quite into it.... tears of joy during the happy moments and tears of emoness during the sad moments. -_-! It is a must watch if you like cooking, like to blog, or just like a feel good show.

I dont like to cook........ BUT I LOVE TO LOOK AT ALL THAT FOOD! Worst still, I was fasting when watching that... LOL. Made my stomach growled LIKE MAD! When the show finished at 6.30pm, I was mad hungry! The show got me to ponder - if i could find any challenging projects and blog about it. I'm generally a lazy person and I seldom keep up with things.......so that is a challenge to overcome by itself. What kinda deranged projects can I embark on?

All that food made Ben and I crave for some good food...and we spent quite a bit - $55 on a dinner :( Considering we usually SHARE a plate of chai fan for dinner. We went to Say Cheeze at Tampines 1. Always wanted to try that, but we would get tempted by something else. I must say - Say Cheeze is AWESOMELY YUMMY! We tried Miso Salmon and tenderloin steak......we went crazy! For that once, I ate slowly because I wanted to savour the interesting taste. Miso as a sauce for salmon is unique! Ooooooh talking about it is making my stomach growl right nowww :/ All their desert choices look so impressive too that we have trouble deciding! Luckily, we didnt order desert because we could hardly finish our main dishes. Forgot to bring my handphone along, otherwise could have taken some shots! :(( Say Cheeze is definitely one of my favourite eating place for now! And I so wanna go back just for their cakes!!

OK. Time for bed =) Have a good Friday! T.G.I.F!

Still getting used to a new cell group. Just like what Sandra said, it takes 21 times doing it to get used to it. Yea, so just need a little more time! Slowly breaking the ice with a few of them. Even Desmond! Cool that I bumped into him on 171 yesterday and we had a chance to chat, from Douby Ghaut to Bukit Timah.

Hahahaha and its really cool that Mr RP (Republic Poly Manhunt winner!) is in our cell group lah. told my sister to make her jealous. :p

Neways, here goes our very first N182 group photo, taken on Sarah's birthday at Ms Clarity cafe:

Believe in the new things

Coming to a new cell group - a total new environment, its almost like starting all over again in making those Godly friendships. A little tiring, and yet exciting at the same time. However, my new cell group leader, Melvin, changed my perception entirely. He spoke about his mission trip in Indonesia whereby he prayed for the sick and dying, and saw many miracles with his own eyes. It was inspiring to listen to his testimonies of the good things happening in Indonesia. He also shared briefly his sermon with us, which was about embracing new things. Instead of moving with fear, we should face the future boldly even when facing new things that may seem scary because we do not know what to expect. Now that we are the new people in this cell group, we should bring in a new spirit, a new atmosphere, a new life, a new joy and new ideas into the cg. Reminds of what Ben always encourages me with - "have a spirit of expectancy". Ties in with what Melvin said - Expect new things!

Its only Sunday, and I'm already looking forward to cell group on Friday! :D Realized that with a changed perception, our actions and attitude change as well. It determines whether you will enjoy the company regardless of what you're doing, or feel insignificant and bored. So, always expect the good things and your mind will focus on that!

Anyway, something random - I love my red shoes! :D
Photobucket
Hehe so many friends came up to me last night and told me its pretty. Thanks!! :D Crazy thing is....... i have it in white and yellow too. LOL!

Guangzhou - Day 1 白云山 (Bai Yun Shan)

A 6am flight is so tiring! We woke up at bout 3.30am to shower and get ready...worst still, we were both having flu and I was really drowsy from the flu medicine man!

During the flight, we couldnt really sleep cos its uncomfortable. Thankfully we brought a laptop, so we watched Jennifer's Body. Diao, this show seems to be leveraging on Megan Fox's sexiness.. other than that, I dunno if its supposed to be a scary movie, a comedy or what? Or maybe I was too sleepy. We arrived at Guangzhou with a shock. It was 8 degrees according to the weather report, but it felt extremely cold! We were totally underdressed and UNPREPARED! Ben happened to have a big thick jacket and I had to wear that plus gloves and scarf. Gawd, my feet was freezing too! Everyone was in pretty boots while i'm in flats and you can see i was quite out of place.

Photobucket
Very nice of Xin Yi to ask her uncle to fetch us, but he was bout half hour late due to delays. We were starving....even though we had mac for breakfast at the budget terminal, we had mac for lunch again.

Xin Yi's uncle is a very friendly guy, somewhat reminding me of a giant teddy bear as he's big size. Fortunately, his accent was understandable as we later found out that he's a taiwanese. We were so lost on our way to the hotel cos her uncle isnt familiar with the Liwan district (Guangzhou is split up into districts) of our hotel area. Luckily, Ben printed a map of guangzhou jus hours before our departure!

Finally, we reach our hotel at bout 1pm! It looks damn promising because the street ahead had loud music booming and lotsa people. Looks HAPPENING!

Photobucket
view from our room!

Photobucket
I was so freezing and couldnt find the blanket :((

after some suffering and almost convinced Ben to get blankets from the lobby, we realized the pink layer was the blanket. -_- just that it was tucked in at all 4 corners! Wanted to nap....good thing we jumped out of bed 5 minutes later, with the decision to not waste our day!

Needed to get a down jacket for me, maybe boots too, and go Bai Yun Shan since we read that the place is a good place to go for bout 3 hours to half day.

Photobucket
the front of our hotel! Home Inn (Shangxiajiu) - very good location! Near the metro and shopping district~ and its only $20+/$30+ a night!

the shopping district is so awesome! In Guangzhou, there are two major pedestrian shopping streets - Shangxiajiu and Beijing Road. Shangxiajiu is a smaller and more local version whereas Beijing Road caters more to the tourists. I bought a pretty black jacket for 99 yuan (to convert to SGD: divide by 5) and am so happy with my buy!! :D

One problem with our area is... its hard to get a cab! Many people wanted cabs, so we walked quite far out to grab the cab first hahah. Interesting that theres metal bars separating the cab driver from the back passengers and only women and children can sit at the front seat! Cost about 40 yuan to get to Bai Yun Shan as its in another district plus theres jam! the half hour journey gave us some chance to catch up with sleep and we were quite refreshed for our little adventure!

Here we are the Bai Yun Shan! NICE SURPRISE that theres cable car up the hill! Yipppeee! We're such lazy people hahah!
Photobucket

Photobucket
Ben's resolution is to take photos of as many funny signs as possible

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket
Thank God for the cable car! It was already mid afternoon. If we had to hike up to the peak, it would be sunset by the time we're up!! (plus days of muscle ache!)

The cable car ride was long, so VERY WORTH IT! :D
Photobucket

Photobucket
pretty looking temple! Wanted to check it out!

Photobucket
from the peak - bad haze due to pollution.

Photobucket

dared Ben to do this, and he was game:
Photobucket

sia lah I wanted to challenge him, but it was TOO PAINFUL!
Photobucket
he had a shock that its A LONG WAY DOWN!

the walk down was very steep. good thing we rode the cable car up! On the way down, we chanced upon a sign that pointed to Extreme Sports Center. It doesnt look open, but we decided to deviate and check it out! Good thing we did, cos its very interesting and was a nice surprise! THey had slides that are somewhat like Sentosa's luge, some grass slider thing thats like snow city's, bungee jump etc!
Photobucket

Trying out the slide thingy - only 10 yuan a person!
Photobucket

Photobucket
best thing is we got to go two rounds!!

Then we tried the grass slider thing - but at the last minute I backed out cos the slope looks so steeeeeep and since we already bought the tickets, Ben went down twice. He kept insisting its not scary and was damn sian that I refused to try hahah.

Photobucket
150 yuan bungee jump! but ben didnt try cos he said it doesnt look scary enough.

the walk down was long (imagine coming up!) and saw some people walking backwards down the slope. Idea sia, then the leg muscles wont be so painful! However, I walk damn slow when I'm walking backwards hahaha.

We couldnt find the pretty temple we saw from the cable car and so be it! By the time we reached the bottom, we were COLD, TIRED and HUNGRY :((

Saw a road side stall with lots of steam :D~ Dont know whats shes selling, so just went for the safe bet - tea egg!

That night, we continued the search for my boots --
Photobucket
came across this! omg, I really think crocs is disgusting, and this is wth funny! Crocs for winter!

Photobucket
shoes, shoes and more shoes! really spoilt for choice.

Photobucket
shopping district at night

End of day 1! :)

Lovin my Hero!

Hehe, finally got my hero on Sat! My iphone has been spoilt for MONTHS! I took so long choosing my phone in the midst of times when I was supposed to be doing assignments etc...like as if I was choosing a partner for life. Finally, I set my eyes on HTC Hero due to the numerous reviews that its better than iPhone and BB. After using iphone for 1 half years which is such an easy to use phone, I knew I had to find something even better or stick with iphone. To be honest, iphone has gotten disgustingly common. Old people, middle age people, adults, kids, everyone is using it!

Sososo, thank you to Ben and my mummy for pooling $$$ to buy me this phoneeeeee!

The android platform makes the phone so customizable that I'm having lots of fun to do up my 'scenes' (profiles). :D Really love one of the apps - FxCamera which includes ToyCamera (MY FAVOURITE!), polaroid shots, symmetric shots and pop art shots. Just the toy camera function alone has gotten Cindy and I hooked on it. Set it on random and all the shots turned out to be a nice surprise! :D

Hehe, Cindy quit her job recently so I have company for exercising! Our agenda of the day - jog + swim!

Photobucket
at the gym with Cindy and my hot white hero.

Photobucket
got a MEGA shock when i saw cindy spray the tanning oil on face! ITS SO OILY!

Photobucket
had fun with my new shades bought from JB with the gals on Monday! SO GLAD i bought it! :D:D

Photobucket

haha the toycamera emulator is SOO FUN! :D Can save money on my initial intention of buying a digital lomo. This is BETTER!

Besides the FxCamera, I'm having fun with Robo Defense - a tower defense game! hahaha so warcrafty.

Great Hols!

My this week has been really fun so far, becos of the numerous plans plus kickstarted with spending lotsa fun moments with peiying and xuemin!! I met up with the 2 of them to shop, with the goal to NOT BUY ANYTHING. hahaha! I had 2 shopping trips this year le, and spent quite enough. Must be Ben's thrifty bug got into me!! Even xuemin commented that I'VE CHANGED, if it was the past, I would have definitely bought clothes without much thinking! Besides shopping, we spent a lot of time during dinner talking which i very much preferrr~! I havent physically shopped for months, so shopping is really tiring for me! Its really funny that both peiying and i got influenced by xuemin...........to buy towels from Aussino cos of the 50% off sale!!! and we walked around all day carrying towels x_x that reminds me......i left my towels in pei's houseee! gah! Xuemin is a woman of great ideas sia - she said lets go play mahjong, pei and I went 'Hao ar,Hao ar'. She said clubbing, we also 'hao ar, hao ar' hahah! So spontaneousssss which is so fun! :D

We couldnt find one more partner for mahjong so we played 3 pple mahjong. As xm is a little 'noob' in mahjong, we all decided to play smaller - 10cents, 20 cents, 30 cents, 40 cents, 50 cents rather than 0.10, 0.20, 0.40, 0.80, 1.60. So much for playing smaller....cos after taking out one set for the 3 pple mahjong, can play super big sia! So easy to make 'half colour' and 'full colour' ahaha! so it wasnt small at all, every round the winner usually win with at least 3 tai!! AND XUEMIN KEPT WINNING!!!!

A pretty crazy night that lasted till 5AM! goosh.we were all dead tired by then, but we couldnt sleep, and ended up talking about our relationships. Like these sessions where we could all share and bare our hearts and lives to each other =)) been so long since the last one!!!!!!!

That reminds me, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY today Xuemin and Waichong! =)

Met up with Khorkai, Huiyin, Kenny and Audrey after so long (which is not very long actually). Long cos we used to meet up at least weekly!! for our eating sessions!! See lah, how to not grow fat when i hang out with them! Our sports outings never came, and we kept eating good food. gawd!!! Yesterday's bbq was just AWESOMEEE omggg!! I never knew bbq could taste so GOOOOOOD! thanks to KK's ideaSSSS!

- banana sliced up with dark choc in between. wrapped in aluminum foil. YUMMMYYYY!!
- aluminum bowl of normal sliced cheese over fire for it to melt.....and put the butter herb prawns and mushrooms in....ITS CRAZY COMBO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- and honey besides butter to graze during cooking. everything tastes so sweet and delicious!!!

We couldnt finish our food again, even though we bought quite little this time! so many small eaters in the group - audrey and huiyin ate lesser than me!! Thankfully, it started drizzling only after we were dead tired and full. hahaha!! at least that pushed us to clean up the place and leave. we were all sitting around and staring at the leftovers previously loll.

we ended our night with the game that we write a famous person's name for another person to hold up and guess by asking yes/no questions. its so fun, and we had lots of laughs! for the cartoon category, i was the very last person to guess mine...i kept asking:

-"is it an animal" yes
-"is it a monster" no
-"is it a mouse" no
-"is it male" yes
-"is it a cat" no
-"is it a dog" no
-"is it a cow" no
-"is it a rat" no
-"is it a cat" no (dunno why, i kept thinking of tom and jerry!!)
hint: it has 2 colours
-"is it red" no
-"is it yellow" no
-"is it black" no
-"is it brown" no
i semi gave up by now, and they keep telling me it eats veg
-"is it popeye" noooo! its an animal!
-"is it olive" NOO its male!
-"is it spinach" noooo!
they said it can be found in a pet shop
-"is it a cat" "is it a dog" "is it a....... HAMSTER?" NOO!
SEE.... do you know what it is??????????????? no right!!?

-"is it a rabbit".... yes
what character is a rabbit?!?!?!
kns.... x_x didnt think of it!!

wed: swimming + jogging in afternoon with cindy, dinner and movie with ex cell group, clubbing with peiying and xuemin at dbl O (good thing swimming, jogging and clubbing plans cancelled! quite packed)
thurs: badminton with eunice and daniel, dinner with new cell group
fri: badminton with xuemin peiying/swimming with cindy (plans not confirmed), church in the evening.

I like my weeks packed like this! Much more fun...thou that means I have no time to blog (about china trip! ben has been reminding and reminding me about it!) and little time to help ben with his work :X which i promised to in exchange for him helping me with mine during semester time. =X

Have a great week ahead peeps! Will put up pics soon of our china trip! :))

A Beautiful Looking CG

Yesterday was the very last of W133 being together and we received our "posting" results at the end of the service. Thankfully, we wouldnt be split up individually but mostly in groups. Yah Lan started off by saying the names of the groups then to whom are we attached to. She started off with Cheryl and Eunice...and I prayed frantically that I'll be with them! I'm very close to the both of them - Cheryl was in NTU and we had lots of 'just-us' quality time during our weekly commune to cell group at Old Airport Road then while Eunice is my dearest roomie in Elevate Camp and we literally played, ate, slept together. The sweetest moment was when we were lying side by side in bed, prayed for each other and the people around us and fell asleep after a nice private chat about ourselves =)) To my utter surprise, Yah Lan mentioned Ben's name and I knew there and then that YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY i'll be with them! (cos they wont be so evil to split us up!!) just the 4 of us to Melvin's cg. Words cant describe how happy I am cos this is exactly what I wanted! God just knows.

During our last cell group meeting together somewhere along Bukit Timah, a lot of us took a few last looks at each other. Haha, not just me, but even Ben and Daniel noticed that our cell had a lot of girls....and pretty ones at that!!

And we need pictures so you can understand my point. However, I think they are more beautiful in real life :) and. they are all single. cept for San who got happily attached recently hehe!

Met my new cell group people for a brief round of introductions last night. I almost cant remember all their names alreadyyy opps...so many names! For the first time in my life, I'll be under a male leader and there are super a lot of guys in this group which was always the opposite in the 3 cell groups I was in before. How oddd!

I love W133 and my new cell group looks exciting too :D :D

A new cell group family

Was totally shocked by a piece of news when i arrived back in Singapore - that my cell group leader is stepping down (due to work commitment and a very sick dad) and the entire cg is splitting up this very week! Its so sudden and I feel totally unprepared. :/

Find this pretty saddening and exciting at the same time. Afterall, we have all been together for a year and half now. We are pretty bonded, and definitely very comfortable with each other. The thought that we might no longer be seeing each other at least twice a week sucks, cos I love their company! On the other hand, its a good opportunity to meet new people and make new friends i guess.

They are announcing which cg each of us is going to tmr. scary!!

I can only pray that I'll be in good hands and that this cg will help me grow to be better and stronger in my walk with God.

Looking back....... at all the W133 entries. sweet memories.

Blocked by the Great (Fire)Wall of China

Ahh. So much for bringing my laptop to China! I was blocked by their powerful firewall from Twitter, blogger, blogs, facebook, youtube, and what not! x_x We still tried to overcome the firewall using proxies etc for the first 2 days. After we realized that they were very serious about blocking us from freedom of expression, we gave up.

Nevertheless, good thing we brought lappy. At least Google maps work great, and they were extremely helpful in our many self-explorations~!

The entire trip was AWESOME! AWESOME! AWESOME! AWESOME! The company, the exploration, the experience of their locals' lives, the fun activities, I was literally HAPPY every second~! Only thing was the weather. Seems like some freak weather going on - 20 odd degrees 2 weeks ago. The day we touched down at the airport was the COLDEST - 8 degrees in the day with a 2 degrees wind chill! When we left, the weather was much more normal - about 15 - 18 degrees. I was COLD beyond belief. Extremely bad headache from the brain freeze for the first two days. (and i'm having a bad headache now, FROM THE HEAT!) bahh!

All the theme park going has made me go crazy suddenly about Roller Coaster Tycoon!! Even though I am usually sitting at the bottom of the thrilling rides looking at people's expressions while Ben goes ahead hahaa. Going to play it in a few moments, if the downloaded version works.

As usual, I always have a travel diary for every trip. I'll update again real soon~!

Did you miss me? the tagboard is getting quiet! :(

My Last Exam

HooooooraySsSss that I finished my very last exams today! Doubt I'll further my studies. Just wanna hurry clear my bond right now!

It was a good thing that we didnt book air tickets to fly right away after my paper. hahaha. The packing took quite long! Plus all the last minute research before we go.

The weather in Guangzhou seems freaky. It will be cold for the first few days we're there (about 5-13 degrees) then average for the rest of the week (about 15 degrees). Totally weird! I kinda hope I have the chance to wear my pretty gloves thou hahaha!

Anyway, the hotel I am staying has internet access, or so it says, and I'll be bringing my laptop. So, I should be updating pretty often! Brought all the camera wires to transfer photos right there. woot! excited about the polaroid camera too~!

Okaay, gotta go sleep now. Have to wake up at 3+am for the flight!

Stay tuned! :D

What is Success?

As you guys may know if you do read my tweets, I am going to start a blog shop with Xuemin (and we roped in Peiying too!). I always wanted to start a blog shop, but never had the courage because I had the mindset of fear - fear of failure, fear of uncertainty, fear of commitment.

However, can I make this work? Can we make this work? YES! If we put our 110% effort into it and be creative in the marketing, it will work out. I have several tricks up in my sleeves, hopefully it would make the blog shop go viral. Moreover, can engage the help of my bf as his expertise is in advertising etc!

This time I will not hold back, but instead go all out to MAKE THIS WORK!

We define our own success. To me, success is not earning big money through the blogshop. Regardless of what the outcome is, I have succeeded when I take action and did my best. If I gave up without trying, that's failure.

This theory can also be applied to many parts of our lives. Take some time to think what you have defined success and how you should re-define it, to make yourself successful.

Support me when the time comes, ok? =)

Teeth Whitening Diaries - #2

Went to the dentist earlier in the week. Now i neednt wear my home whitening kit anymore - the stains on my teeth are pretty much gone and gel aint cheap ($75 for 4 really small syringes). Just need to maintain by using the gel for bout 2 days every 2 - 3 months.

So, wanna see the before and after photos? =) Anyway, I just wan to say that my teeth is like this because of excessive flouride ok...hahaha I brush my teeth at least twice a day. I didnt have these stains because I'm a disgusting person with poor oral hygiene!

Lie on the next person's.....

poof, phews, poofff. I feel like I can finally take a breather after chionging assignment after assignment. One last assignment, then exams!

Think I slpt like only 2 hours at best due to being tired beyond tired and ended up couldnt sleep! I was quite in a daze plus a little slow in speech the entire morning. But i think the final straw was during my sms conversation with Ben:

Ben: ... So sleepy. O boy hope later in meeting won't crumble like you.
[haha i 'crumble' when i'm very tired, like almost 90 degrees face flat on my knees, or if i lean back, my mouth will be like :O totally unglam i know! guess its better to crumble then to :O ]

Seb: [so i shoot him back by saying the way he sleep is worst...] I think you should hope you'll crumble like me rather than you end up lying on the next person's soldiers or drooling all over your uniform haha :p

hahahah. did you see that?

Ben: WhaHaha lying on the next person SOLDIERS? You mean SHOULDER? Oh man. Classic.

o.o" I swear it was because I AM DAMN TIREDDDDDDDDDDDD!

Anyways, just came back from the dentist. She said my teeth is at the whitest shade for the teeth colour chart now! woot! I asked her to send me the pic of before and after hehehe. Show ya all when I get it! xD

My life in a photo - Update

Photobucket
i think things are looking brighter, with all the ticks.
just two more assignments to go, then exams, then China trip!

in the midst of doing all the assignments, Ben kept watching videos of the exciting rides in Chimelong Water Park and Chimelong Paradise. We both even dreamt that we were there and taking rides! Ok, his was a nightmare. that we kept wasting his time by taking bo liao rides and he ended up not having the chance to sit his thrilling rides. what a nightmare right! he's so drama! Mine was also a nightmare i guess - that i was on this ride (omgosh SO SCARRY!) =/

Newayss, have a great weekend ahead! =)

Halloween! with church friends

Never had the habit of celebrating Halloween. Think the last time I did it could probably be during poly days. Had my reservations about this gathering/party at Bayshore's function room (which is so nice!)... didnt want to go due to previous day's fever, plus lots of assignments to hand in. However, had to go due to a last minute inform that our Sorry, Sorry dance is one of the items on the list :/ Nevertheless, I'm healed by God's grace - never had a fever and be well so soon. Must be the prayers, thanks! N had much fun there =)

The Day We Wore the Same

Took some photos to commerate the day we wore the same (Saturday actually). hahaha, we had so much fun taking these photos! :D

yea, one of the very extremely rare times he 'camwhored'.

it was totally candid, random and spontaneous. (so pardon my amateurish poses and really big eye balls for one of the pics hahah!)

memories :)

neways, its the last of my black hair you'll see. a sneak preview of how it looks now ;)

Photobucket
the haircut looks different from all sides - like what my hairstylist calls it: 3 hairstyles on one head.

Since I really like my hairstylist (Alan) a lot, I shall spread the word bout him! I'm very impressed by his skills, creativity and friendliness. Each time I go to him, he comes up with an entirely different hair cut for me. Not like going to the hairdresser and cutting the exact hairstyle again and again. He's very friendly, not pushy, and a very good father too. Watching how he converse with his daughter amazes me, and would definitely make anyone wish you have a daddy like that. He's so gentle, not pressurizing and encouraging when he spoke to her, asking her bout her exams today.

Here's the contact details if you wanna try out. He's awesome.

My life in a photo

The outlook of my life for the next few weeks till 17 Nov 11:30am is pretty gloomy, with lots of assignments to look ahead to. 18 Nov - the day Ben and I will go China!!! Cant wait for that, and yet dont want time to pass so fast because time feels like its flying. Whole of Sunday gone, with little progress in work! x_x

Whats Your Love Language?

As you probably should have heard about the 5 love languages, I suddenly thought about it the past few days. I was feeling pretty loved by friends, and unloved by bf and I realized whats the problem:

It lies in my primary and secondary love language. Its generally Quality Time and Words of Affirmation.

Hahhaa, I'm really beaming with delight over Eunice's casual comment on facebook for days which actually motivated me to continue my exercise routine just to maintain that 'petite' physique (otherwise I'll risk looking like a humpty dumpty - short and ROUND). Must maintain that pair of awesome legs too HAHAHAH!

i'm such a sucker for words of affirmation! hahaha, or rather, compliments! they make me happy for a long time :D

On the other hand, I was pretty upset with my bf for the lack of quality time for extended period of time. So, he's been on off and all the past two days and we're trying to improve things hehe! In fact, we had quite a lot of fun today during badminton and swimming! I LAUGHED a lot when i saw him in swimming trunks! it just looks DAMN FUNNY! I still remember when I first saw it in my cupboard - my sis asked me for a black tube, and i passed her the trunks. She had a shock at first, not knowing what it was. After that, we laughed crazily because the trunks are REALLY SMALL.

anyway, its really odd how people ask me for tagboard when i dont have one, and when i have one FINALLY, no one tags!! :( hahaha cherish the tagboard leh, it might not be there for long!

whats your love language? :)

Nothing But You

I think there are too many occasions when I look for someone because I feel lonely, I need company, I need encouragement, I need support, I need someone to be there, I need love, etc. And then it hit me when I read this:

Be
with
you.

*

You can only
experience
the
joy

of
being with
someone

when
you go to
him

for nothing

but

himself.

*

Not for

assurance,
encouragement,
comfort,
safety,
acceptance,
praises,
counsel,

presents,
solutions,
money,
results,
surprises,

another miracle,
another dream,
another vision,

not even
love;

you just want to
be
with
him

and
enjoy
his company.

*

Do it today.

Taste the bliss.

*

Taken from my favourite blog.

I will learn to enjoy your company from today on.

Vulnerability is Power

Was reading a friend's friend's blog and instantly loved the way her blog uplifts you. Some blogs have so much vulgarities and upsetting things that it makes you think life sucks and feel the spirit of darkness/depression engulfing you. This blog, on the other hand, never fails to lift my spirits up and sometimes, enlightens and encourages me.

Sandra was sharing with me about her life and I felt really touched by her sudden act. I instantly recalled what I read in my friend's friend's blog and realized how true it was when she said:

Vulnerability
is
power.

*

When
you
open up,

others
open up.

Her sharing made me feel open to share about whats going on in my life, and in turn, I felt our friendship growing stronger.

Maybe you can try it too. Open yourselves up, and others will do the same.

Just to share - this friend's friend's blog can be found here. =)

School's OUT!

Oh, what delight when I suddenly had the urge to confirm if the history's class is on with iggy.....and I found out that ITS A PUBLIC HOLIDAY TOMORROW?! :D :D Gosh, its like some last minute bonus for me esp since I'm all prepared to spend the whole day at the library tomorrow. Not that the holiday is much of a difference actually, cos I will still be busy. Lots of assignment deadlines coming up in early Nov, and I should really start now if I dont want to die then.

My mind is just echoing the guitar hero's School's Out song right now...
No more pencils
No more books
No more teachers..........

Anyway, heres wishing my sister a HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I think the whole cell group is really generous and loving to pool in some money to buy her a lomo cam! heh, some credits to me for the idea and hours of researching on lomo cams of coss! and credits to liz and cheryl for taking time to go buy it :)

I gave her a personal present too - so now she has 2 cameras! A camera necklace (with flashlight) haha! plus a Diana Mini lomo cam! :D Her wish for a camera semi came true!
